Overview: The School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive speech and language services to students aged 6-21 years old. The SLP will be responsible for overseeing assessments, conducting student evaluations, writing and updating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), attending meetings, and providing direct therapy.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students' speech, language, and communication skills.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Write, update, and maintain accurate IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to student care.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, either individually or in small groups.
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Keep detailed records of assessments, progress reports, and communication with stakeholders.
- Participate in team meetings, including IEP meetings and staff development sessions.
- Stay current with best practices, research, and developments in the field of speech-language pathology.
