Position Overview
The SLP will provide assessment, therapy, and consultation services to students with speech and language disorders. The role focuses on improving communication skills to support academic success and social development, while working closely with teachers, families, and special education staff.
Requirements

Must meet all Illinois state and local licensure requirements for Speech Language Pathologists

Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders

Active Illinois SLP license and any required certifications

Previous school-based experience strongly preferred

Experience working with special education students and families highly valued
Typical Job Duties

Conduct evaluations of students speech, language, and communication abilities

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with student needs

Provide therapy services in both group and individual settings

Track and document student progress and adjust goals as necessary

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and special education staff to integrate communication strategies into daily learning

Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional input

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district and state regulations
