Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position offers an opportunity to support speech-language pathologists (SLPs) in a K-12 educational setting within Glendale, CA. As a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), you will play a vital role in helping students improve their communication skills under the direction of licensed SLPs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist SLPs with an assigned caseload averaging approximately 45 students.
- Support students in achieving their individualized speech and language goals.
- Prepare materials and documentation to aid therapy sessions.
- Monitor and document student progress accurately.
- Collaborate with SLPs, teachers, and other school staff to ensure effective service delivery.
- Maintain confidential records in compliance with professional standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, preferably in a school setting.
- Knowledge of speech and language development and related disabilities.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with children from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to follow directions and work under the supervision of licensed SLPs.
- Availability to work 30 hours per week during the contract period.
