Duties/Responsibilities:
- Administer and complete evaluations for pediatric patients (birth to age 20) in a home health setting, following departmental standards and procedures.
- Maintain timely and accurate records and reports on pediatric patients' progress and care plans.
- Design and implement individualized treatment programs to enhance patients' functional abilities. Use therapeutic exercises and activities to improve or maintain strength, range of motion, and fine-motor coordination for children and adolescents.
- Instruct pediatric patients in adapted techniques and the use of assistive equipment for tasks such as feeding, dressing, home management, and other self-care skills within the home environment.
- Provide preventive therapy to help maintain functional skills, educating patients on energy conservation, joint protection, safety techniques, and proper transfer methods, while also instructing families in safe personal care techniques.
- Develop home programs tailored to each child’s needs and educate families or caregivers on how to implement these programs effectively.
- Participate in patient support groups and collaborate with other team members to ensure comprehensive care for pediatric clients.

Education and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
- Master’s degree in occupational therapy required
- Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association required
- Licensure or certification by the state of Texas as an OTR
Preferred:
- One year of experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Will engage in movements that involve lifting equipment used in patient care, etc.
- May be exposed to infectious diseases and human waste products
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at times
