Key Responsibilities:
Assessment:
- Evaluate speech, language, communication, and swallowing abilities using various diagnostic tools.
Treatment:
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans.
- Provide direct intervention for speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Collaboration:
- Work with healthcare professionals, educators, and families to coordinate care and support.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress.
Education:
- Educate and counsel clients, families, and caregivers about communication and swallowing disorders.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated with advancements in the field through continuing education.
Compliance:
- Ensure practices adhere to regulations and confidentiality standards.
Duties include: Providing individualized instruction and support to students. Screening, Identifying, and Diagnosing disorders of communication including articulation, voice, language, and fluency. Use state eligibility criteria to make decisions regarding service eligibility.Provide treatment and intervention, including consultation and follow-up to children, from birth to twenty-one years of age, diagnosed with communication disorders. Determine specific, reasonable, and appropriate goals and objectives and measure treatment outcomes through a program of periodic monitoring and data collection.
