Position Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following local and state requirements to apply:
- Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited institution (Required)
- Active Pennsylvania Social Worker License (LSW or LCSW)
- School Social Work Certification or eligibility for certification in Pennsylvania
- Previous experience in a school setting or working with children and adolescents (Preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Section 504 Plans
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and child abuse clearance
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
As a School Social Worker, your primary duties will include:
- Providing individual and group counseling to students to address emotional, behavioral, and social challenges
- Conducting social-emotional assessments and developing intervention plans for students in need of support
- Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to address student concerns and create a positive learning environment
- Supporting students in crisis situations, including conflict resolution and crisis intervention
- Assisting in the development and implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans
- Connecting students and families to community resources and support services
- Promoting mental health awareness and prevention programs within the school community
