This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with students, supporting their communication skills to foster academic and social success.
Position Overview
As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will assess, develop, and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each student's communication needs. Youll collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create a comprehensive support system that promotes students' language and social development.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct speech and language assessments to identify students needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans targeting communication skills, including articulation, language comprehension, social communication, and fluency.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to integrate speech goals within the classroom and home settings.
- Monitor and document students progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate teachers and caregivers on best practices to support students communication skills outside therapy sessions.
Requirements
- Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Current Speech Language Pathology license in the state of Michigan.
- Certification: ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
- Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of Michigan state regulations for school-based speech therapy.
- Background check clearance.
- Completion of any district-required certifications or training.
