My name is Ashley Muhando! I obtained a bachelor's degree in Speech Language Hearing Sciences from Kean University in May 2023! I returned back to Kean and am currently working on obtaining my master's degree. A fun fact about me is that I love to sing! Singing was originally my passion and still is! Another fun fact about me is that I’m a triplet!

Where are you at in your journey to be a therapist? Where are you currently enrolled and what year are you?

I am a first-year graduate school student at Kean University. Class of 2025! I just recently finished my first semester of graduate school.

What are your goals post-graduation?

After graduation, I hope to travel and spend time with my friends and family. I hope to do my CF in either a school or a private practice.

What would you share with someone who is starting their journey to be a therapist?

My advice to anyone applying to graduate school is to believe in yourself and whatever is meant to be for you will find its way!

Anything else you’d like to share about yourself and your journey to where you are right now?

Right now something I have been working on is digital content creating and vlogging my journey on my SLP Instagram account: @thecoloredslpcorner I wanted to make a safe space for other aspiring SLPs to be able to connect.

What’s something you want to share with our readers?

I wanted to highlight my journey as a SLP of color. Representation is important and I want others to know that change starts when you represent your culture!

What are you most proud of in your journey to where you are today?

What I’m most proud of in my journey to where I am today is that despite adversity I am resilient!
