Blazer Jobs is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Physical Therapist (PT) for a part-time, school-based contract position in West Springfield, MA for the upcoming new school year. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative educational setting.
Position Overview:
As a Physical Therapist in a school setting, you will work with students with a variety of physical challenges to help improve their mobility, strength, and access to the educational environment. You will play a key role in evaluating students, developing treatment plans, and working as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet IEP goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive assessments to identify students physical therapy needs.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with students IEP goals.
Deliver direct and consultative therapy services to students with physical disabilities.
Collaborate with IEP teams, educators, and families to ensure student progress and participation.
Document services and student progress in compliance with district and state regulations.
Make recommendations for adaptive equipment and classroom modifications as needed.
Provide training and support to school staff on physical access and accommodations.
Qualifications:
Valid Physical Therapist license in Massachusetts.
Must meet all state and local requirements for working in a public school setting.
Experience with special education students and families is highly preferred.
Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills are essential.
Previous school-based or pediatric experience is a plus.
