Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing experienced Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTAs) for full-time opportunities with partner school districts in the Kansas City, Kansas area for the upcoming school year. Details:
- Location: Kansas City, KS
- Full Time: 37.5 hours per week
- Caseload: Elementary school assignment. The district likes to discuss more details at the time of interview to see the best.
Applicants must meet all state and local requirements: - Current Kansas state license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)
- Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Successful completion of the NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) exam
- Ability to pass required background checks and clearances as mandated by Kansas school districts
- Prior experience working in a school-based or pediatric setting is preferred
Responsibilities: - Implement therapeutic activities and interventions developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist to support students' IEP goals.
- Assist with the development and modification of classroom and school environments to promote student access and success.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and responses to interventions.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate occupational therapy strategies into the educational setting.
- Support assessments and data collection to help evaluate students' functional skills and progress.
