Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced and licensed Physical Therapists (PTs) for a full-time position with partner school districts in the Chalmette, LA area. We are looking for compassionate professionals dedicated to helping students reach their highest potential through school-based physical therapy services.
Position Overview:
As a School-Based Physical Therapist, you will assess and support students with physical challenges to improve their mobility, independence, and participation in the school environment. You will collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers to ensure that each students needs are met effectively.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct evaluations to assess students physical therapy needs and eligibility.

Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and therapy plans.

Provide direct services to students to improve strength, coordination, posture, and functional mobility.

Support access to the educational environment through adaptive strategies and equipment recommendations.
-
Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to integrate therapy into the school day.

Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary planning.
Required Qualifications:
To be considered, candidates must meet the following state and local requirements:

Masters or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

Active and valid Louisiana Physical Therapist license issued by the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board.

Certification from the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE).

Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred.

Working knowledge of special education services and IEP development under IDEA.

Strong collaboration, communication, and time management skills.
