Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced and qualified Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) for a full-time opportunity within partner school districts in the Blue Island, IL area. Were seeking professionals dedicated to supporting students speech and language development in an educational setting.
Position Overview:
As a school-based SLP, you will assess, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, and communication disorders. This role is vital to helping students succeed academically and socially by improving their ability to communicate effectively.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct evaluations and screenings to assess speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs.

Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in groups.
-
Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and update IEP goals as needed.
-
Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and parents to support student success.

Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.

Offer strategies and training to school personnel and families to reinforce communication skills at home and in the classroom.
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the following Illinois state and local requirements:

Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech-Language Pathology endorsement.

Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) license for SLP.

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.

Prior experience in a school setting is strongly preferred.

Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
