Full-Time Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant Kansas City, KS

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTAs) for a full-time position with school districts in the Kansas City, KS area for the 20252026 school year. The caseload will primarily consist of Early Childhood through 5th grade students. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a supportive team and help students thrive in a school-based setting

Position Overview:

Location: Kansas City, KS area

Contract Dates: August 4, 2025 May 22, 2026
Caseload: Early Childhood and Grades K5

Requirements:

To be considered, applicants must meet the following Kansas state and local qualifications:

Active Kansas COTA license through the Kansas Board of Healing Arts
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
National certification from the NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy)
Must work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
Ability to pass all required background checks and district onboarding
Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
Assist in implementing IEP goals related to motor development, self-care skills, and classroom participation
Support development of fine motor, sensory processing, and adaptive behavior skills
Prepare therapy materials and adapt classroom activities to meet student needs
Track and document student progress in compliance with district standards
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and therapy staff to support student success
