Are you a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) looking for a rewarding contract opportunity? We are seeking a full-time SLP to join a supportive school district in Blue Island, IL, for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year (dates tentative).
About the Role:
- Dates: 2025-2026 School Year (Dates Tentative)
- Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours/week
- Caseload: K-12 students. Specific caseload details will be discussed in depth during the interview please come prepared with questions!
- Compensation: The average hourly rate for a contract licensed school-based professional in Illinois is $40-$60 based on experience.
Responsibilities of a School-Based SLP:
As a vital member of the school team, you will:
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and hearing screenings and diagnostic evaluations to identify communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with speech, language, and communication needs.
- Provide direct and indirect therapy services, utilizing evidence-based practices, to address a wide range of communication disorders, including articulation, phonology, fluency, voice, and expressive/receptive language.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, administrators, and other related service professionals to ensure student success and integrate speech-language goals into the general education curriculum.
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust treatment plans as needed to maximize outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records and complete all required documentation (e.g., therapy logs, Medicaid billing).
- Offer consultation and guidance to school staff and families regarding communication strategies and support.

Requirements:
- Active Illinois (IL) SLP license is required.
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech-Language Pathology endorsement is required.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA is highly preferred.
- Previous school-based experience is a plus.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
