Blazer Jobs is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist for a full-time role with a school district in the Mokena, IL area for the 20252026 school year. This position serves students from Preschool through 3rd grade, with a strong focus on evaluations and therapeutic interventions.
Ideal candidates will have experience working with students with Autism, knowledge of sensory diets, and familiarity with high-needs populations. Experience in a therapeutic day school setting is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations for students to assess motor, sensory, and functional skills

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals

Deliver direct OT services in individual and group formats
-
Create and monitor sensory diets and provide consultation to support student regulation

Collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and families
-
Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings
-
Support functional independence and academic access through adaptive strategies and interventions
Requirements:
All applicants must meet local and state requirements, including:

Valid Illinois Occupational Therapist license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)

Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution (Bachelors or Masters level)

Ability to pass background check and meet district onboarding requirements

School-based or pediatric experience preferred
