We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a contract position in a supportive school district in Bastrop, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of elementary school students while enjoying the unique charm of Bastrop.
Location: Bastrop, TX Start Date: August 4, 2025 End Date: May 22, 2026 Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Caseload & Details:
- Full-time position.
- Bilingual (Spanish-English) proficiency is required.
- Serving 1-2 elementary schools (Early Education - 5th grade).
- This is a hybrid position: 3 days on-site and 2 days virtual.
Job Duties:
As a School-Based SLP, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify communication disorders.
- Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with speech, language, and communication needs.
- Providing direct and indirect speech and language therapy services.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to support student success.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of student progress.
- Participating in ARD meetings and contributing to multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Utilizing telepractice for virtual therapy sessions as per the hybrid model.
Qualifications:
- Active professional license as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the state of Texas is required.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA is preferred.
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children.
- Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Compensation:
The average hourly rate for a contract licensed school-based professional in Bastrop, TX, is $40-$50 based on experience.
