Description:
A collaborative and student-focused school district in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) for the 20252026 school year. This full-time, school-based position offers the opportunity to support K12 students in developing the functional skills necessary for academic success and participation in school activities.
The OT will be an integral part of the special education team, delivering therapy services and fostering inclusive learning environments across the district.
Responsibilities:

Provide direct occupational therapy services to students across K12

Conduct evaluations and functional assessments

Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
-
Collaborate with teachers, families, and other service providers
-
Participate in IEP meetings and team planning
-
Document therapy sessions, progress, and student outcomes
-
Support sensory processing, fine motor skills, self-care, and classroom participation
-
Consult with staff to adapt curriculum and classroom environments to support student access and engagement
Requirements:

Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

Current Virginia Occupational Therapist License issued by the Virginia Board of Medicine

Must hold or be eligible for a Virginia Board of Medicine license to practice Occupational Therapy

Must hold or be eligible for Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) license if required for school-based practice by the district

Previous school-based experience preferred

Strong understanding of pediatric occupational therapy and the IEP process

Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
