Job Description:
We are currently seeking a motivated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our school-based team serving students in the Port St. Lucie, FL Metro Area . This full-time position involves working under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) to help students achieve their communication goals in an educational setting. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children and committed to supporting student development and academic success.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide speech-language therapy services to students as directed by the supervising SLP
- Assist in implementing treatment plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Support students in improving articulation, language, fluency, and social communication skills
- Collect data on student progress and document session notes accurately and timely
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support generalization of speech and language goals
- Maintain appropriate records in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development as required
Qualifications: - Associates or Bachelors degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Active Florida SLPA license or eligibility to obtain one
- Previous experience in school or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under supervision and follow treatment protocols
- Organized, reliable, and adaptable to changing school environments
