About the Role:
As a School-Based Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping students access their education and thrive within the school environment. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team dedicated to student success. Our district prides itself on fostering a welcoming and resourceful atmosphere for its educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments to identify student needs.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) to address occupational therapy goals.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs).
- Train parents and school staff on activities and the use of assistive technology to support student progress.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, special education staff, and other related service providers.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and services.
Qualifications:
- Current and active Occupational Therapy license from the State of Arizona is required.
- First Aid/CPR certification is preferred.
- Recent experience working in a school setting or with a pediatric population is highly valued.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
Compensation:
This is a contract position with an average hourly rate of $40-$50 based on experience.
