Job Description:
We are seeking four qualified Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to join a dynamic and supportive school team in Seattle, Washington for the 20252026 academic year. These full-time, onsite roles involve providing direct and consultative services to students across multiple schools.
These positions are ideal for professionals who are proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and passionate about supporting students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or experiencing hearing loss in educational settings.
Caseload Details:
-
Three DHH Teachers will be assigned to caseloads of 18 students each
-
One DHH Teacher will manage a caseload of 15 students
-
Students will range across various age groups (specific school sites and ages TBD)
-
All students have varying degrees of hearing loss, requiring individualized educational support and communication strategies
Key Responsibilities:

Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing

Use ASL and other communication modalities to ensure student access to curriculum and learning

Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and other service providers

Participate in IEP meetings and help develop/implement individualized plans

Provide training and consultation to staff and families as needed
Requirements:

Masters Degree in Deaf Education or related field

Active Washington State (WA) DHH Certification through the Department of Education

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required

Prior experience with school-aged children across elementary to high school levels preferred
