Typical Responsibilities Include:

Conducting comprehensive evaluations to assess students occupational therapy needs

Designing and implementing individualized intervention plans aligned with IEP goals

Delivering direct services in classroom or pull-out settings across multiple schools

Collaborating with teachers, support staff, administrators, and families
-
Participating in multidisciplinary IEP meetings and providing professional recommendations
-
Maintaining compliance with documentation requirements and tracking student progress

Adapting your schedule and caseload to meet changing circumstances and student needs
Applicant Requirements (Local & State):

Masters Degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
-
Active Illinois Occupational Therapist License from the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation

Must meet Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) requirements for school-based service providers, including:

Educator licensure or service personnel credential (e.g., PPS Authorization Endorsement)

Completion of fingerprinting, background checks, and any mandated health screenings
Previous experience in school-based, itinerant, or pediatric therapy settings preferred
Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills suitable for an itinerant caseload
