Contract School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) / SLPA / Clinical Fellow (CF) - Newton, MA
Are you a passionate and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), or Clinical Fellow (CF) looking for an immediate contract opportunity in a highly supportive school district? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team in Newton, MA, for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. This is a fantastic chance to utilize your expertise, especially with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), in a dynamic high school setting.
Location: Newton, MA Start Date: ASAP End Date: June 18, 2025 Onsite Position Only
Caseload/Details:
This position will involve working with a high school caseload. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and be comfortable working within an ABA-based (Applied Behavior Analysis) program.
Job Duties May Include:
- Conducting assessments and evaluations for high school students with communication disorders.
- Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) or treatment plans.
- Providing direct and indirect speech and language therapy services, with a strong focus on AAC implementation and support.
- Collaborating closely with teachers, school staff, families, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive student support.
- Monitoring student progress, maintaining accurate records, and participating in team meetings.
- Assisting with the integration of communication strategies within the classroom and school environment.
Special Requirements:
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license in Massachusetts is required.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCs) from ASHA are preferred for SLPs, but we are open to Clinical Fellows (CFs) with strong AAC experience.
- Must have extensive experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
- Must be comfortable working within an ABA-based program.
- Previous school-based experience is essential.
- Successful completion of a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) search and fingerprinting is required.
- A Zoom interview will be conducted as part of the hiring process.
Compensation:
For this contract position, the average hourly rate is $45-$55 based on experience.
