What Youll Be Doing
As a school-based Physical Therapist in San Francisco, you'll play a vital role in helping students achieve their educational and developmental goals. Youll work closely with teachers, special education teams, and families to assess mobility challenges, create individualized treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions. Your daily work may include evaluating gross motor skills, consulting with staff on accommodations, and tracking progress toward IEP objectivesall within a collaborative and student-centered environment. Your expertise will help foster not just movement, but confidence, independence, and participation in school life.
Qualifications and Licensure
To qualify for this role, candidates must hold an active California Physical Therapy license and have completed a Masters or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution. In addition, California law requires either a Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) services credential or a waiver for those providing therapy in public schools. Pediatric or school-based experience is highly preferred, and a strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation standards is a plus.
