Your Impact as a Bilingual SLP
In this role, youll assess, diagnose, and provide therapy to students with speech, language, and communication challengesdelivered in both English and the students native language (typically Spanish). Youll support multilingual learners by adapting intervention strategies, collaborating with teachers and families, and ensuring accurate assessment outcomes that reflect true abilitynot language difference. Your culturally responsive care will help students find their voice in every language they speak.
Required Qualifications Illinois
To be eligible for this role in Illinois, candidates must have:

Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders

Active Illinois SLP license (IDFPR)

Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Speech-Language Pathology

Bilingual fluency (Spanish/English) required

ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
