School Social Worker Full-Time | Kansas City, KS | 20252026 School Year

A fantastic school district located in Kansas City, KS is seeking a full-time School Social Worker to join the team. In this role, you will provide essential support and services to students, helping to foster academic achievement and personal growth. You will collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure each student receives the appropriate care and instruction.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct support and services to students based on individual needs and IEP goals
Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff to support student development
Assist in implementing behavioral and social-emotional support plans
Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Participate in IEP and student support meetings, offering insights into student performance and needs
Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Connect students and families with community resources and mental health services as needed

Qualifications:

Valid Kansas License issued by the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) with a School Specialist License Social Worker endorsement
Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) in Kansas preferred
Previous experience working in a school setting or with children and adolescents
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, social-emotional learning, and behavioral intervention strategies
