Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Occupational Therapist to join a student-centered team in the Fresno, CA area. In this role, you will work with students to help them develop the skills necessary for academic success and participation in school activities. The ideal candidate is dedicated to supporting students with diverse needs, collaborates well with multidisciplinary teams, and is committed to improving student outcomes through individualized and evidence-based interventions.
Key Responsibilities: - Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, and functional school-based activities
- Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans in alignment with IEP goals
- Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in small groups
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to support student participation and success in academic and daily routines
- Adapt classroom materials and recommend strategies to improve student independence
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise and documentation
- Maintain accurate records of services, progress reports, and evaluations in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Stay current with best practices, licensure requirements, and professional standards
Qualifications: - Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current California licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L)
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage a caseload and work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with IDEA and IEP processes
