Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing qualified Speech-Language Pathologists (CCC-SLP) for a full-time middle school-based contract role in Houston, TX. This is a great opportunity to join a committed special education team serving 7th and 8th grade students.
This position focuses heavily on re-evaluations, with relatively few initial evaluations, and students typically do not receive therapy every week. Caseload sizes generally range from the 60s to low 70s.
Position Requirements
To be considered, applicants must meet all applicable local and state requirements, including:

Valid Texas SLP licensure
-
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
-
Compliance with Texas Education Agency (TEA) guidelines
-
Prior experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred
Key Job Responsibilities Include:
-
Conduct re-evaluations of speech-language services and update existing IEPs
-
Administer standardized and informal assessments to determine continued eligibility and progress
-
Collaborate with IEP teams, school staff, and families to ensure individualized support
-
Develop and revise IEP goals and service recommendations based on updated data
-
Provide direct speech-language therapy services as indicated in IEPs (often not weekly for all students)

Monitor progress and maintain accurate documentation for compliance and reporting
-
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team reviews

Support students with articulation, language, fluency, and pragmatic concerns

Work closely with administrators and special education teams to prioritize caseload demands
