Requirements:

Must meet all local and state licensure requirements for Occupational Therapists in Texas

Masters Degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

Active Texas OT license issued by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners

Prior experience working with special education students and families highly preferred

Familiarity with IEP development and school-based documentation requirements
Typical Responsibilities:
-
Provide direct occupational therapy services to students with fine motor, sensory, and functional challenges
-
Conduct evaluations, screenings, and assessments to identify student needs and determine eligibility for services

Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals related to motor skills, adaptive functioning, and sensory regulation
-
Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents to integrate OT strategies into daily classroom routines
-
Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, student progress, and compliance reports
-
Participate in IEP meetings, staff consultations, and professional development opportunities
-
Provide training and consultation to school staff on adaptive equipment, positioning, and classroom modifications
