Role Summary
As an SLPA in Richmond, VA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to implement therapy plans that improve students speech, language, and communication skills. You will collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote positive outcomes for students.
Responsibilities
Provide direct therapy services to students as outlined in individualized education plans (IEPs).
Assist in conducting speech and language screenings.
Collect and document data on student progress.
Support SLPs in preparing therapy materials and scheduling sessions.
Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to ensure consistency in communication goals.
Maintain accurate records in compliance with school and district policies.
Requirements (Virginia)
Active Virginia SLPA license or eligibility.
Associates or bachelors degree in Speech Language Pathology Assistant studies or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Experience in a school-based setting preferred.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
