A part-time occupational therapist opportunity is available within a K-12 school setting serving a diverse student caseload. This contracted position runs from March 10, 2026, through September 6, 2026, covering a maternity leave. The role involves supporting students across multiple specialized programs, including autism and multi-needs, offering a comprehensive experience in school-based occupational therapy.
Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to K-12 students with various educational needs, including autism spectrum disorders and multi-needs.
- Collaborate with educational staff to develop and implement individualized interventions.
- Participate in caseload management across multiple school sites within the region.
- Document therapy goals, progress, and outcomes according to school and regulatory standards.
- Support students functional and sensory needs to facilitate educational participation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with relevant experience in school or pediatric settings.
- Familiarity with K-12 special education programs, particularly autism and multi-needs.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively and work independently.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Location:
- Naperville, Illinois area, servicing multiple school sites within Grundy County and surrounding communities.
This position offers approximately 14 hours per week, with caseload distribution as follows:
- Walnut Trails Autism program (approximately 390 minutes per week)
- Minooka Central High School REACH program (approximately 90 minutes per week)
- Minooka South High School REACH program (approximately 56 minutes per week)
- Grundy County Special Education Cooperative Multi-Needs and Autism programs (totaling approximately 300 minutes per week)
