Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) for a full-time, school-based position with districts near the Arden, PA area. This opportunity is ideal for educators dedicated to empowering students with visual impairments to access curriculum, develop independence, and achieve academic success.
Position Details:
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: June 16, 2026
Schedule: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week), MondayFriday
Setting: Onsite Only
Pay Rate: TBD (Based on Experience)
Caseload: K12 students across multiple schools within the district
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments across grade levels (K12)
Adapt and modify instructional materials for accessibility using braille, large print, tactile graphics, and assistive technology
Collaborate with general and special education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure access to curriculum and learning environments
Conduct functional vision assessments (FVAs) and learning media assessments (LMAs) to guide instructional planning
Support students in developing orientation and mobility skills, self-advocacy, and independence
Provide training and technical assistance to staff on vision-related accommodations and adaptive tools
Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and documentation of student goals
Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and other relevant educational standards
Requirements:
Active Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) License
Active Pennsylvania Teaching Certification
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Education for the Visually Impaired or related field
Experience providing direct instruction and consultation for students with visual impairments
Familiarity with Braille instruction, adaptive technologies, and visual learning supports
Strong collaboration and communication skills within a multidisciplinary educational team
Must pass all required state and district background checks prior to start date
