Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contracted position is available for a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to serve students in a K-12 school setting in Houma, LA. This role will focus on providing occupational therapy services within a school district serving children ages 3 to 22 with moderate to severe disabilities.
Position Details:
- Location: Houma, LA
- Duration: December 1, 2025 to May 22, 2026 (Contract for the current school year)
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Setting: Onsite services only (no telehealth options)
- Caseload: Approximately 71 students across six schools, including five elementary (K-6) and one high school (7-12). Many services will be indirect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy assessments and interventions tailored to students with moderate to severe disabilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with educational staff and families.
- Document progress and maintain compliance with district policies and state regulations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support student goals and accommodations.
- Provide services primarily onsite across multiple school locations within the district.
Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana OT or COTA license in good standing.
- Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in educational or school-based settings.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and provide both direct and indirect therapy interventions.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals.
