Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide critical speech-language pathology assistance in a K-12 educational setting within Mobile, AL, serving students from kindergarten through fifth grade. The role focuses on supporting licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) by delivering targeted interventions under supervision, primarily in elementary and middle school environments. This full-time contract opportunity offers a consistent schedule and meaningful engagement in a dynamic school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with speech and language therapy services for students in grades K-5, contributing to individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Work collaboratively with licensed SLPs to implement therapy strategies and monitor student progress.
- Serve caseloads at multiple school locations, including Holloway Elementary, Chastang-Fournier K-8, and Scarborough Middle School (itinerant position).
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines.
- Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals to support student outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current registration as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) with the state Board of Speech Examiners.
- Experience working within K-12 school settings preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with a passion for supporting childrens speech and language development.
- Ability to work on-site across multiple schools within the district.
