Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support K-12 students in a full-time, contract position through the current school year ending June 30, 2026. This role requires working onsite in a school setting located in Kent, Washington.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services tailored to students with severe emotional and behavioral needs.
- Support medically fragile children with specialized therapeutic interventions.
- Collaborate with educators and school staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with school and state regulations.
- Respect and integrate Native American cultural perspectives within therapy practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Washington State COTA license is required.
- Must have OSPI fingerprints and comply with additional Bureau of Indian Education credentialing, which may cause a brief start-up delay.
- Prior experience in a K-12 school environment preferred.
- Experience working with Native American cultures highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to support students with severe emotional and behavioral challenges as well as medically fragile conditions.
Hours and Location:
- Full-time position at 32.5 hours per week.
- Onsite work at a school serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
- Position based in Kent, WA.
