An opportunity is available for a skilled School Psychologist to support the educational and emotional well-being of students in a dynamic school setting located in Pierre, SD. This role involves collaboration with educators, parents, and students to provide essential psychological services that promote a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments to identify student needs and support eligibility for special education services
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies
- Provide counseling and crisis intervention for students requiring emotional or behavioral support
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and implement support plans
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust services accordingly
- Travel as needed to various school sites within the district
Desired Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field
- Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
- Experience in conducting assessments and delivering school-based psychological services
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively with students, families, and school personnel
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and maintain confidentiality
