Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This role offers an opportunity to apply expertise in occupational therapy within a school environment. The position is based in Chicago, IL, on a contract basis, providing essential support to students through therapeutic interventions that enhance their academic and social success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and develop individualized occupational therapy plans tailored to student needs.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to integrate therapeutic goals within the classroom setting.
- Implement strategies to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities.
- Monitor progress and adjust therapy plans accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Maintain detailed documentation in compliance with school policies and regulatory standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to individualized education plan (IEP) development.
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed occupational therapist with relevant certifications.
- Experience working in educational settings, preferably schools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, and school personnel.
- Ability to analyze and adapt interventions based on student progress.
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques applicable in school environments.
