Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Social Worker to join our team in Maywood, IL. The School Social Worker will play a vital role in supporting the social, emotional, and academic success of our students. This position encompasses a range of responsibilities, including providing counseling services, crisis intervention, and collaborating with students, families, and school staff to promote a positive school environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Provide crisis intervention and support for students experiencing emotional distress or challenging situations.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement interventions and support plans for students.
- Conduct assessments and screenings to identify students in need of social-emotional support services.
- Advocate for students and families to access community resources and support services.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide input on students' social-emotional goals and needs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide consultation and training to school staff on topics related to social-emotional learning and mental health awareness.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement.
- Previous experience working as a School Social Worker preferred.
- Knowledge of counseling theories, crisis intervention techniques, and social-emotional learning strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.
- Understanding of cultural competency and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
