Dates: August 9, 2024 - May 30, 2025
Part-time: 10-15 hours per week
Caseload: Approximately 3 students for direct services, 1-2 hours per week each
About the Role: As a Music Therapist in Sheldon,you will have the opportunity to use music as a therapeutic tool to address the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of students. Your role will involve providing individualized music therapy sessions to students as part of their educational program.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine students' therapeutic needs and goals
- Develop and implement individualized music therapy treatment plans for students
- Provide direct music therapy services to students in both individual and group settings
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to support students' overall development
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and session notes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program
- Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) credential preferred
- Texas state licensure
- Previous experience working with students with diverse needs preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
