Requirements:
Applicants must meet all local and state requirements to apply. This may include:
- Holding a valid license or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist in North Carolina.
- Possessing a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
- Demonstrating knowledge of federal and state regulations related to special education and speech-language services.
- Having experience conducting comprehensive evaluations and assessments of students' communication skills and disorders.
- Passing a background check and any additional screenings required by the district.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech-language evaluations and assessments to identify students' communication disorders and delays.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and interventions to address students' speech and language goals.
- Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language impairments, including articulation, language, fluency, and voice disorders.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into students' educational plans and activities.
- Monitor and document students' progress toward speech and language goals, and adjust intervention strategies as needed.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, to develop and review students' educational plans and progress.
- Provide consultation and support to teachers and staff regarding classroom accommodations, modifications, and strategies to support students' communication needs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessment data, therapy sessions, progress notes, and billing information according to district and state guidelines.
