Blazer Jobs is actively seeking experienced School Psychologists for full-time contract positions within school districts in the Coal City, IL area. Requirements:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
- Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist in the state of Illinois.
- Completion of all local and state requirements for employment, including background checks and certifications.
- Strong knowledge of educational psychology, child development, assessment, and intervention techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, educators, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational assessments to evaluate students' cognitive abilities, academic skills, social-emotional functioning, and behavioral concerns.
- Interpret assessment results to identify students' strengths, weaknesses, and learning needs, and make recommendations for appropriate interventions and supports.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and other support plans for students with special needs.
- Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional support services to students experiencing academic, behavioral, or personal challenges.
- Facilitate student support teams, multidisciplinary meetings, and parent conferences to coordinate services and address students' educational and mental health needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) to promote a positive and inclusive school climate.
- Consult with teachers and staff on effective classroom management strategies, differentiated instruction, and accommodations for diverse learners.
- Provide professional development workshops and training sessions for school staff on topics related to mental health, behavior management, and academic intervention strategies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessment results, progress monitoring data, and intervention plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Stay informed about current research, best practices, and legislation affecting school psychology practice through ongoing professional development activities and participation in professional organizations.
