Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing experienced Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) for a full-time, school-based contract position in West Milford, New Jersey. This short-term assignment is focused on a caseload of elementary students with Autism, many of whom utilize a variety of AAC devices.
Position Overview:

Schedule: Full-time, school hours

Caseload: 1015 elementary students with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Setting: Public school, inclusive and self-contained classrooms

Specialized Support: Multiple types of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices in use
Qualifications:
-
Valid New Jersey Speech-Language Specialist certification
-
Current NJ SLP license from the Division of Consumer Affairs
-
Must meet all local and state requirements for school-based speech-language services
-
Prior experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder and AAC devices highly preferred

Strong collaboration skills and experience working with special education teams and families
Typical Responsibilities:
-
Conduct speech and language therapy services in accordance with students IEP goals
-
Assess, develop, and implement treatment plans that support communication and language development

Support students using AAC devices and collaborate with staff on proper device implementation
-
Document and track student progress in compliance with school and state requirements
-
Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team discussions
-
Collaborate with teachers, aides, and family members to maximize student communication success
