Job Description:
As a School-Based Physical Therapist, you will be an essential part of the educational team, supporting students with physical disabilities to access their educational environment effectively. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing individualized therapy plans that align with students IEP goals and promote independence and mobility within the school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments to determine students physical development needs.
Develop and implement individualized physical therapy programs.
Collaborate with IEP teams, educators, and parents to support student success.
Monitor, evaluate, and document student progress.
Recommend adaptive equipment and modifications to facilitate access.
Educate staff and families on best practices and strategies to support student mobility.
Provide direct and consultative services to students in accordance with their IEPs.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports in compliance with school and legal standards.
Qualifications:
Valid California Physical Therapist License.
Must meet all local and state requirements for school-based employment.
Experience with special education students and families is highly preferred.
Previous school-based experience is a plus, but not required.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
