Contract School-Based Psychologist - Middle School - Alexandria, VA

Job Duties:
As a School-Based Psychologist, you will provide comprehensive psychological services to middle school students, including but not limited to:
- Conducting psychological evaluations and assessments to determine eligibility for special education services and inform intervention planning.
- Interpreting assessment results and writing comprehensive reports.
- Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and Section 504 plans.
- Providing individual and group counseling to address social-emotional, behavioral, and academic needs.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, administrators, and other support staff to develop and implement effective intervention strategies.
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Consulting with school staff on classroom management, behavior intervention plans, and positive behavior supports.
- Crisis intervention and risk assessment as needed.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential student records.
Special Requirements:
- Active professional license as a School Psychologist in Virginia is required.
- Strong understanding of middle school development and challenges.
- Recent school-based experience preferred.
Compensation:
For this contract position, the average hourly rate is $40-$55 based on experience.
