Location: Alexandria, VA Dates: 2025/2026 School Year Hours: Full-Time, 36.25 hours/week | 8:15 AM EST - 3:35 PM EST Grades: High School

Caseload/Details:
The district is seeking a dedicated professional to provide comprehensive school-based psychological services to high school students. Specific caseloads will be assigned by the district based on need and your experience.
Job Duties May Include:
- Conducting psychoeducational evaluations and assessments to identify students' cognitive, academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Interpreting assessment results and writing comprehensive reports.
- Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and Section 504 plans.
- Providing direct and indirect interventions, including counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional skill-building.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, administrators, and other school staff to support student learning and well-being.
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings (e.g., IEP meetings, eligibility meetings).
- Consulting with school staff on behavior management strategies, classroom interventions, and data-driven decision-making.
- Conducting functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) and developing behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Promoting a positive school climate and fostering mental health awareness.
Special Requirements:
- Active Virginia (VA) Licensure/Credentials as a School Psychologist is required. Please confirm your current licensure status and be prepared to provide documentation.
- Experience working with high school-aged students is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of federal and state special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Compensation:
For this contract position, the average hourly rate for a licensed school-based professional in Alexandria, VA, is approximately $40-$55 based on experience.
