Position Details:

Location: Bessemer, AL area
Schedule: Part-Time (Flexible hours within the school day)
Contract Renewal: Based on performance and district needs for the upcoming school year

Applicant Requirements:

Candidates must meet all state and local qualifications to be considered:

Valid Alabama Physical Therapist License issued by the Alabama Board of Physical Therapy
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (Doctorate or Masters level)
Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
Must be able to pass:
Alabama State Department of Education background check
Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance
FBI and ABI fingerprinting/background clearance

Typical Responsibilities:

Evaluate students with physical disabilities and develop individualized treatment plans
Implement therapy sessions to improve students' gross motor skills, balance, coordination, and mobility
Collaborate with educational staff, families, and other therapy providers to promote student success
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to documentation, progress tracking, and reporting
Support students in accessing the educational environment through adaptive strategies and mobility interventions
