Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Job Duties

Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in students

Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on student needs

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student progress

Monitor and document student performance and adjust treatment plans as necessary

Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional recommendations

Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
Federal and State Requirements

Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program

Current Illinois SLP license required

ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Illinois school districts
