Position: Emotional Support Interventionist (2 Openings)
Location: Carbon County, Pennsylvania

End Date: June 12, 2026 (Tentative; follows school calendar)
Hours per Week: 32.535 hours
Position Overview:
The Emotional Support Interventionist provides direct, intensive support to students with emotional and behavioral challenges. The goal is to help students develop the skills to manage their emotions and behaviors in a practical, productive way. Support focuses on students' current needs, functions, and systems within the school environment, with an emphasis on social-emotional learning.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 or small-group support to students with emotional and behavioral needs

Implement and reinforce Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) created by the behavior specialist or IEP team

Assist with behavior regulation, emotional management, conflict resolution, and social skills development

Collect data on behavior and intervention outcomes

Support students during transitions, sensory breaks, or moments of crisis/de-escalation

Maintain a consistent, structured, and safe classroom environment

Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and related service providers

Assist students with academic participation as needed

Support personal care needs, if applicable (e.g., toileting, hygiene)
Required Credentials / Non-Negotiables:

Bachelors degree in Juvenile Justice, Psychology, Social Behavior, Education, or related field preferred

Associates degree considered with minimum 1 year (3+ years preferred) experience in emotional support or behavioral roles

Experience in therapeutic or emotional support classroom settings strongly preferred

Strong knowledge of emotional/behavioral disorders (e.g., anxiety, trauma, oppositional defiance, ADHD)

Skilled in de-escalation, positive reinforcement, and relationship building

Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress or crisis situations

Must maintain professional boundaries and model appropriate behavior at all times

Basic computer skills required (for documentation and communication)
