Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing qualified and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTAs) for a full-time, school-based contract position in Woodland, California. This position is a maternity leave coverage assignment, scheduled from October 27, 2025 through March 20, 2026. The selected professional will work closely with the districts Occupational Therapist and special education team to support students functional, sensory, and motor skill development in the school environment.
Requirements:

Must meet all state and local certification and licensure requirements for Occupational Therapy Assistants in California

Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

Current California COTA license required

Previous school-based or pediatric experience highly preferred

Strong collaboration and communication skills with educators, therapists, and families
Typical Responsibilities:
-
Provide occupational therapy services under the supervision and direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L)

Support the implementation of therapy plans designed to improve students fine motor, sensory processing, and self-help skills
-
Assist in evaluating student performance and documenting progress toward IEP goals
-
Adapt classroom materials and activities to meet students physical and developmental needs
-
Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to integrate therapy strategies into daily routines

Maintain detailed service logs, progress reports, and documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
-
Contribute to IEP team discussions and provide feedback on student progress and recommendations

Foster a supportive, inclusive environment that promotes independence and participation in the classroom
