Dates: 20242025 School Year through May 23, 2025 (with potential renewal for next school year)
Schedule: Part-Time | 23 days per month
Setting: Primarily Virtual with Occasional Onsite Visits
Position Overview:
BlazerJobs c/o School Districts Nationwide is seeking a qualified Orientation & Mobility Specialist (OMS) to provide services for visually impaired students ranging from Pre-K through High School. The specialist will manage a district-wide caseload and collaborate with educators and families to promote independence, safety, and functional mobility across educational and community environments.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments

Conduct assessments and develop individualized O&M plans

Provide both direct and consultative services to support daily living and travel skills

Facilitate staff training sessions to promote inclusive practices and student safety
-
Support the development of pre-cane, cane, and community travel skills
-
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure students achieve their mobility goals
Qualifications:

Masters degree in Orientation & Mobility or related field

Active ACVREP Certification required
-
K12 Teaching Certification preferred

Experience supporting students with visual impairments (Pre-K12)

Strong communication, adaptability, and technology skills for virtual service delivery
