A school is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable School Psychologist to support the mental health and educational development of its student population in Wetumpka, AL. This role involves providing psychological assessments, interventions, and consultative services within the school setting, while also requiring some travel to various locations.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments to identify students learning needs and social-emotional challenges
- Collaborating with educators, parents, and administrators to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans
- Providing counseling and crisis intervention support to students
- Offering professional development and consultation to school staff regarding mental health and learning strategies
- Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports to document student progress and service outcomes
- Participating in multidisciplinary teams to promote a supportive educational environment
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field
- Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
- Experience conducting assessments and delivering interventions in school settings
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, mental health issues, and educational psychology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage travel commitments responsibly and efficiently
